We have the capability to cater to your most exacting needs in garment design, perform various processes on the same garment & the discipline it takes to follow lead times.

Friends garments boasts a modern sampling unit which is fully & independently capable of producing new designs keeping in mind the latest trends, Protos and Sales-Man-Samples (SMS) etc. Our sampling unit is equipped with the following:-

Front Loading Washing Machine Used for determining the dimensional stability and appearance tests after washing of fabrics and garments.
Front Loading Tumbler Dryer Used for drying of fabrics and garments.
Elements tear tester Determine the tearing strength of woven fabrics
Tensile Tester Determine the tensile strength of woven fabrics, seam strength and slippage of woven garments.
Beesley Balance Used for finding out the yarn count of woven and knitted fabrics.
Digital Thread Counter Used for finding out the thread construction of woven and knitted fabrics.
Binocular Microscope Used for fibre analysis of textile materials.
PTT Meter Used to determine the PTT Value of woven and knitted fabrics.
Hot Air Room (300 Sq. Ft.) A chamber used for maintaing certain preset temperature for drying using re-cyclyed steam.
Paramount Spectra-vision Color evaluation being carried out in this color matching cabinet which has lights sources like D 65, Inc A, TL 83, CWF and UVB.

All the fabrics are tested from certified testing authorities:-

Count/Construction
Shrinkage
Appearance After Wash
Crocking (Dry/Wet)
CF To Washing and Light

Trims

All trims are checked for quality and durability.
All trims are attached correctly using proper attachment methods to ensure durability.
Trim materials are checked to perform consistently with the base fabric performance with no differential shrinkage.
Join seams are kept neat and raw edges are removed.
Ribbon ends are heat-sealed.
Lace panels are paired / matched, wherever applicable.
Elastic is Pre-shrunk for all garments, wherever applicable.
All trims are sourced from 'Nominated Suppliers' to ensure reliability.

CUTTING

All trims are checked for quality and durability.
All trims are attached correctly using proper attachment methods to ensure durability.
Trim materials are checked to perform consistently with the base fabric performance with no differential shrinkage.
Join seams are kept neat and raw edges are removed.
Ribbon ends are heat-sealed.
Lace panels are paired / matched, wherever applicable.
Elastic is Pre-shrunk for all garments, wherever applicable.
All trims are sourced from 'Nominated Suppliers' to ensure reliability.

NEEDLE CHECK

Needles are checked and replaced regularly in order to avoid needle damage and over heating.
We ensure that the needles are compatible with the fabric and thread to avoid seam quality complications.
We ensure that compatible constructed fabrics are made with corresponding ball point/sharp point needles.
All records are maintained for the same.

WASHING & FINISHING

Four garments of each size and of each dye-lot of a particular colour are run through a 45 min. machine wash cycle and thereafter checked for any washing discrepancy by the washing technician.
All garments are dried throughly prior to packing stage.
Thread-Cutting, Ironing, Spotting and other finishing procedures are ensured according to specific quality control measures.
All garments are passed by quality checkers and submitted for a random quality re-check to Sr. Q.A.
All garments are then passed through metal detector machine.

Garments are further checked for:

Correct labeling, hangtag positioning and carton marking and other packing instruction is followed.
Correct ratio packing.
Same dyelots within cartons.

FINAL QUALITY INSPECTION

All packed garments are inspected by internal audit team before forwarding it to buyers Q.A Team. Records are maintained for these internal inspections.

SPECIAL CHILDREN GARMENT SAFETY

Choking Hazards/ Small parts are strictly avoided in garments for children under the age of 3. Garments with small embellishments such as sequins, beads etc are labeled as ''WARNING, CHOKING HAZARD''.
Special care to Soft-Handfeel is ensured in children garments. Also garments are ensured free from skin irritants using a pH controlled soap wash.
Accessories with potential for causing harm due to sharp edges are not used.
Polybags labeled as, ''WARNING-TO AVOID SUFFOCATION, KEEP AWAY FROM BABIES AND CHILDREN. DO NOT USE IN CRIBS, BEDS, CARRIAGES OR PLAY PENS. THIS IS NOT A TOY.''
